Kill Your Darlings: Editing 101

In the spirit of a previous post, and in honour of Friday, I present you with the perfect way to approach editing:

Happy Friday!  See you next Tuesday, for the Teatime Ten, this week with Meredith, who gave us all the gift of the Austenesque Extravaganza!

  1. I die. Seriously, that is hilarious. Sometimes I feel that way... on both sides of the table! It's good to know I'm not the only author who ever received editorial direction I disagreed with, and not the only editor whose direction has been scorned.

  2. *grin* My favourite part is "'Whoops!' Hamlet falls off the battlements." When I was writing the first draft of the end of Cupid and Psyche, I often grumbled that I would just have them both fall to their dooms and have done!
